Draftmix.com is the next step in the evolution of fantasy sports. While other fantasy sports sites keep rehashing the same old formula, we're constantly working to make the game easy and engaging.
We're currently the only site offering live drafts all day every day throughout each sport's season. We offer short term, hands off leagues, so you won't be penalized if you can't login five times a day to manage teams. And we offer guaranteed cash prizes with a simple, easy to understand structure.
Corporate Info
Draftmix.com is owned by Blue Frog Gaming. The company participated in the Y Combinator summer funding cycle, after which it relocated to Campbell, CA.
Founders
Matt Maroon:
Matt was a physics and computer science student at the University of Akron until, much to his parents' chagrin, he decided to pursue a career in poker. It worked out well though. He played professionally for five years, largely online, and wrote both a popular blog and a bestselling book on the topic before making the jump to the comparably sane world of startups.
Over the last few years, Matt parlayed the notoriety he gained from his writing into a successful business, Rakesucks LLC, which has provided marketing services to online poker rooms through affiliate programs. One of the largest affiliates on the net before the UIGEA caused many sites to withdraw from the American market, he generated millions of dollars in revenue for the poker rooms, which inspired him to get into the gaming business full time.
He does everything but program for the team, but his primary passion is using his knowledge of the industry, gained from 10 years of involvement on both sides, to acquire and retain customers.
John Marks
John earned his B.S. in computer science from the University of Akron in 2003. After graduating he worked from 2003 to 2004 as a visiting research associate for a civil engineering research group. There he worked on developing graphical user interfaces to aid in setting up and displaying data from experiments.
The most avid fantasy sports fan of the group, John was the original inspiration behind draftmix.com when he realized that the closet full of t-shirts he'd won from online leagues could have instead been a closet full of cash. He has created most of the customer facing portion of our site, including the draft and lobby, and does all of our general game design.
Chad Remesch
Chad also received his B.S. in computer science from the University of Akron in 2003. Having over seven years of Unix systems administration experience, he comes to us from National City Bank, where he was a programmer/analyst for their online banking security division.
Our Linux and web security guru, Chad has designed most of our back end architecture, and enjoys things like AJAX, comet, and other technologies that sound to the rest of us like cleaning supplies but, given the state of our shared apartment, most definitely are not.
